I like the Black Widow car alarms...

 

Another possible item to consider is a GPS tracking system (similar to LoJack but with much wider coverage area and more notification options). DEI makes one that integrates with their car alarms and will notify you by cell phone if anything happens to the car. A company called Unitracking also makes a GPS tracking system that will integrate with any good car alarm. Unitracking says that they are coming out with a new model in a few months.
