How Many Miles on your Evo? | [MERGED]
What's keeping people from actually driving their cars? I wish more people would actually drive their cars instead of reserving them to garage queen duty.
Now everywhere I go people say - "Whoa you daily drive that thing!?"
As if it's anything special.

all that and the fact that some believe the Evo to be at least some sort of an investment.... all that equals - not everyone wants to rack up the mileage
AMEN!
well the Evo isnt always the perfect DD ya know. between the rock solid suspension and performance tires, to the short-ratio steering, the non-existant sound/noise/wind/road insulation, badly vibrating interior dash and consoles, and the commonly found loud exhaust, its not exactly comfort & convenience people prefer in a daily grind/traffic situation.

Seems like now a days people prefer to drive rolling couches. Driving a car is suppose to be an engaging experience that you are involved in, not some passive snore fest IMO (Even if it's commuting in LA traffic which I do). No thanks, on a scale from 1-10 in terms of harshness for daily driving I'd rate the Evo a 5/10. No where near as bad as people make it. I'd give my S2000 a 8/10 with soft top and 7/10 with hard top, it works wonder to reduce wind noise/interior echo.

Coming from daily driving an S2000, I can't really agree with any of those. The OEM suspension is mild, the exhaust is not loud at all and interior noise is below moderate. If you moved from a LS/7 series then maybe I'd understand.

i have been to LA, and whether bad traffic or empty 8 lane freeways, at least your roads are buttery smooth and wide.
i think u have to come to NYC, and drive your Evo during our rush hour, on narrow lanes, without dividers, where a 3mile commute takes about 40min... and mostly over large speedbumps, cracked asphalt with filled in patches of rough cement, and never-ending potholes. every day i find myself yelling outloud - "Baghdad must have better roads, after a day of bombing raids".
Just hit 55,555 mi. on my IX that I bought new in Oct. 06...
Daily driven, auto-crossed regularly, and I'll be doing a few track days and time attack events this season. I haven't had one major thing go wrong with this car yet, still on the stock clutch. Not looking forward to doing the timing belt at 60k that I know will be here before I know it.
