Oil temp is more useful for you.

Oil temp seems to be only useful for track/road racing of extended engine load...

if you plan on extended periods of racing get the oil temp... if you plan on tuning your car your self get an egt for real time indicator of lean or off tune.

I would think that with an oil pressure gage I would be more interested in an EGT so I can see if I am about to melt my motor. I have logged/watched my oil temps and it really doesn't change enough for me to really want to watch it. EGT's on the other hand seem to be a better indication on how much you are beating on the car. Mine ranges from roughly 800-900 at idle, to 14-1500 at full bore. I have noticed that with weather changes (Buffalo, NY) it varies by a suprising amount.

Once again, this is only my opinion, and my opinion is like *******s... Everyone has one!
