What about the addition of a down pipe? This would be with a greddy EVO2 catback. See, my wife said no more crap done to the car. If she can't hear it she won't know.
Thanks

Im running the WORKS hi-flow cat with WORKS downpipe...its a little louder than the stock...if youre running a stock downpipe, youre not going to hear it that much.

It's not a huge difference in sound. If you really listen to the sound of the car you will probably be able to tell but, the wife probably won't.

I went from stock to the Ultimate Racing 3" HFC and it sounded the same. I already had a 70mm DP and 3" CB exhaust though so it wasn't exactly quiet in the first place.

LOL, let her know that the mods aren't "crap" they serve a purpose and the parts you get will be of high quality and well made.

I'm kinda in the same predicament. Does anybody know if the Buschur 3" TBE with a Magnaflow muffler and high flow cat sounds close to stock or any alternatives?

Just do it...if she says, "Wow honey, your car sure sounds louder, did you change something after I told you not to?"

Just say, "Nope".

What's she going to do, crawl under the car?

I got the same exhaust with Test pipe and downpipe. Its not significantly louder at idle, the real difference is at WOT.

Tell her you'll stop modding your EVO if she stops shopping.

I added a Helix HF cat with the Helix downpipe and HKS exhaust. Sounds the same as when I had the stock cat on.
