Comparing Track Day RS to Street MR
Comparing Track Day RS to Street MR
As you may have seen on my "I'm a 2 EVO man now!!" thread on this forum before the Mods inexplicably moved it to the Show and Shine forum, I got a new '06 IX MR (GG) to drive on the street. I have had an '04 RS (WW) for a year-and-a-half and it is heavily modifed as a track day car.
They really seem like two different cars.
My '04 RS has about 400 hp, runs on 100 octane all the time, is as loud as a freight train, the brakes squeal like a banshee, it rides over road bumps like a stage coach, the windhshield is crakced, the JDM exhuast has discolored the bumper from heat and running rich, both sets of wheels are shod with fast-wearing R-compounds, the back seat and trunk are full of wheels/tires, tools, fluids, etc., and the car has acquired a permanent patina of racetrack dirt and rubber.
The '06 MR is quiet, quick and comfortable, smooth ride on Blisteins, with the best seats of any production car, regardless of prices. Slick shifting 6-speed, carbon fiber trim and aluminum shift knob, stereo good enough for me; nice shiny new Graphite Grey paint -- perfect in everyway, but still an EVO when you hit the throttle or enter a turn.
I better not post any pics on this thread, or it might get moved to Show and Shine too.

Richard EVO...Do you miss the EBD ABS of your MR when racing your RS? I use my ABS everytime I push my car...and don't know what I would do without it...except lock up the wheels...because my ABS computer has more skill than my right (or left) foot.
two evo's.... 1 track... 1 street... MY DREAM.
lucky bastid.. hehe
this is my dream, how does it feel to live it?
can you PM me or give a link or something so i can get more info on the RS? im curious what mods it has, to see some pics, maybe even video's? maybe a couple of pics of the MR too, but i am very interested in the RS.

I just cracked my windshield at Lime Rock Park last Sat. Did you crack yours on track (Chassis flex) ?
ALso... have you taken the MR to the track yet? I would like to know how they both feel.

You got another one?! I'm so jealous.

EDIT: to add something on topic though. You're completely right though. I've swapped cars before with czubaka (he has a IX MR). It's a whole different world -- quiet, refined, but just a tad slower i think.
