Similar thing happened to me not too long ago. I ordered the in-cabin air filter from MitsubishiParts.net and they sent me a votrex generator. I thought about selling it and just ordering another filter (easy way to make a quick $100), but I did the right thing and told them. They sent my filter first with a shipping label, and I sent back the vortex generator the same day. My reward? A Mitsubishi hat...which my dad now wears.

Well, if it were the government that got the wrong part you would have to go to them to pick it up, stand in line for a couple hours, fill out a whole bunch of forms, give some blood for a DNA test, and then they might let you exchange the part for the correct one if the government worker is in a particularly good mood that day.
