For those not aware that Toluene is already used by gasoline manufacturers to boost octane, here is a link to Shell:http://www.shellchemicals.com/toluen...98,277,00.html

I would be very leary of any OTS octane boosters. They will not likely boost your octane remotely close to Toluene or Xylene, which again, is already an added element to gasoline.

In addition, Toluene is a "major" component of hi-octane fuel and is what gives you that sweet smell in race fuel.http://www.shellchemicals.com/toluen...8,1514,00.html

DO NOT GET Toluene ON YOUR PAINT!!!

be very careful when adding this into your car, it will be the biggest mistake you can make if you dribble a little on your gas area like it happens at the PUMP...

just thought i would add that. be careful with this stuff but it works wonders!

I recommend mixing it in a plastic 5 gallon can with some gas, that way it shouldn't hurt your paint. I spilt a small amount on my paint w/ no problems as I wiped it up right away and washed it off.

I buy mine thru a paint store in 5 gal cans. I paid $6.00 a gal but will be paying $7.00 until I find a new source. It helps if you are friends with someone in that situation. You can also try a chemical supply house.
So far I'm able to make a 99 oct mix using 93 & Toluene for $65 a tank compared to $85 a tank of Sunnoco(not to mention that the Sunnoco station is 25-30 mi's away and the paint store is less than 2 mi).

I've always been told to filter Toluene before putting it in your tank. Many gallon cans at paint stores tend to have some sediment in them.

I've never seen sediment in any high end solvents such as Xylene or toluene. It's clear, so you can SAFELY look inside if it makes you feel better, but be very carefull, wouldn't want to get any in your eyes!
Toluene is typically a well refined solvent, unlike paint thinner and Laquer thinners which come in cheaper grades. Just ask them what qaulity the Toluene is. I'll do some research later today and post my findings. Using the gas can mixing method should allow you to safely view the Toluene as you pour it. Invest in a set of chemical gloves from HD or Slowes and a wide mouth funnel. Do ALL your mixing in a well ventilated area!

We ran 91 pump gas on my buddies heavily modded WRX on a dyno but added 3 ounces of this stuff to a half tank all while running his 100 octane race map. The car ran flawlessly and had the same power as using 100 octane VP.
Where can you find this stuff at?

3 oz treated 7 gallons of 91 oct and bumped it to 100 oct? Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. BTW, I nor any of my friends ever heard of any line or small units using it im any branch of the service.

I could care less about the military aspect of it (I've also never heard of it... and I've done my time in a motor pool), but I'm curious to see if the stuff works like that.

I hear you, but my point is this, if they make a claim that is unfounded, then they have a credibility problem. It sounds great if it actually works!
