Liquid Wrench overnight then a small piece of pipe that fits over your ratchet. Works every time for me.

it was a royal PAIN to get the botls off the midpipe where they meet the cat...and my car had 1300 miles on it at the time

bolts wouldnt budge with a ratchet, improvised a breaker bar out of a patio unbrella holder, and they finalyl came off

bottom line, pay an exhaust shop 50 to do it with an air gun, or liquid wrench and a breaker bar

instead of paying a shop $50 you could spend that money on a big *** 1/2" breaker bar.

these will not be the last stubborn bolts that you encounter.

1/2 inch breaker bar and the "handle" to your floor jack are all you need. make sure your breaker bar and socket have a "lifetime warranty".

be careful if you choose to use a breaker bar or use a lot of leverage because you will put A LOT of strain on the Downpipe.... I also ran into this problem and used an impact wrench.... they came right off
