maybe the previous owner had the washer fluid hooked up to the sprayer for more volume

Should be a simple fix right... ask someone to turn the thing on and find a hose that sprays the liquid then just hook it back to that. You can take off the bumper and you should be able to see all the hoses. Go to the How to Section I think there is a write up on how to take off the bumper.

Right off the bat, I think that you might be missing your "coolant resevoir" Can't tell for sure.

If so, a used one or a new one should be that much. most Mitsy parts are pretty reasonable.

Try to connect that hose to another one that is in some water ( like a water jug, etc..
) and see if the thing still sprays.

If you don't hear the pump, the fuse might be blown or missing.

It's a pretty simple set up once you confirm the electrical stuff is still in place and working.

You do know that your winshield washer fluid tank is in your trunk right?

the piece you're holding looks like the hose that comes from the resevoir, correct? the line that runs to the intercooler sprayer comes into the engine bay through a hole next to the headlight housing...if you don't see it then take off your bumper and find it...i agree, there is a "How To" on the bumper removal

I was just going to Edit that in, thanks

He's right, the tank under the hood on an 03-04 is the IC resevoir - so that's the one you must be referring to.

But it's pretty well established that the IC sprayer is pretty useless - no?

I guess unless you track it...

there is a line that runs along the inside of the front bumper and it propably is just disconnected... check that out first... if the line is cut, then you might have to just get an extension... either way, i know because mine is like that cause i haven't changed the sprayer over to the new kit...

I read in "Designing A Turbo Sysyem" by Corky somebody that a reasonably well designed sprayer can improve IC efficeincy by 5 - 10 percent. that's a worthy result if ours meets the deffinition of reasonably well designed. :-)

i wouldnt say its completely useless. on a really hot day if your running the car it doesnt hurt to soak the intercooler with water

I dunno, cooler is cooler (at least to a certain point) I had mine reconnected when I put in my nisei and improved the spray pattern. I'm going to try an measure it if I can to see what happens. It might have already been done, I haven't ever reSEARCHED it ;-)
