Evo IX Stereo Wiring Harness

Wanting to buy a mp3 deck for my Evo 9 with SSL. Locally I was told by a stereo shop that they could not find a wiring harness for my car. Does anyone have a wiring harness for their Evo IX SSL? If you do let me know where to get one.

Thanks

And you need the wiring harness that has a low level to speaker. Not the standard harness. You use the preouts on your aftermarket source unit instead.

The Evo Uses the Same wiring harness as the regular Lancer. I have hooked my Old Alpine 9855 myself. I bought the Lancer Harness and it clipped right on to the Evos Plug. You just have to match the Head Units wires to the Evo's plug. But I haven't played with the SSL System in my IX yet so I don't know how the SSL wires up.

Bought an Alpine 9856 from Crutchfield.com, which by the way is AWESOME for MP3/iPod capability. It came with the needed harness for free, oh, and they shipped it for free.

Good choice!! I've had nothing but good experience with Alpine decks. I once switched my brand over to Panasonic....yeah, that didn't even last a year. My brother just sold his Alpine deck for $60. It was like 5-6 years old and still worked perfect!!

Do you have SSL though. Pretty sure that the harness is different for the evo's with SSL cause they have 7 speakers and a sub. Someone let me know if they have a IX with SSL and have a harness.
Thanks

I have an IX SSL with a Clarion aftermarket deck. You're going to have to get a SoundGate adapter to use the full 7 speaker setup in your car with an aftermarket deck. It plugs into the RCA-outs on your deck and has a round connector on it where you plug it into the round connector on your SSL wiring harness. I got mine from www.al-eds.com

Yeah, what he said. Actually, I understand that with the SSL you need two harnesses:

(1) To connect power to the aftermarket deck, you need the Crotchfeel-type harness, although you won't be using its speaker output wires; just its power wire.

(2) To connect your RCA preamp outputs to the SSL amplifier wiring harness inputs (I think it's a round DIN-type socket), you need a second harness (made by Mitah), which are readily available on eBay, or it sounds like that that Soundgate one mentioned above would work.

Also, if you're running an iPod with, say, an Alpine or similar set-up, you'll need an iPod adapter harness, too.

^^^ correct. You need both harnesses.

As for ipods, i just have mine plugged into the Auxilary imputs on my deck. Satellite radio module coming soon to my Clarion also.

Use the soundgate adaptor and the model for the other harness is a Metra 807001 if you buy at Circuit City and Metra 707001 if you buy it at best buy.

Is there anyway to rewire everything up? Like run the speakers - and + to the amp, then use RCAs to hook the amp to the Deck?

^Are you talking about the factory or an aftermarket amp?

Factory amp. Any way to do that with the factory amp? I have the SSL also but It's frigin mounted under the driver seat and I can't see Sh*t down there becuz the brackets and carpet is in the way. I know you need to take your driver's seat out but I don't want to hassle with that until I replace my system.
