Just kinda curious, cuz I went to the track last night and ran 13.6sec @106 mph. My only mod is a TB exhaust. I was pretty impress with the trap speed

You would find out in the Drag Racing forum. Stock IXs (MR doesn't matter) can run 12.8-12.9 if driven well. You're not stock, though. 13.6 is worse than stock 03/04s, so you just need to learn to drive. Your trap speed is decent, so you know your IX isn't slow. Some IXs trap 106-107 stock, but some don't. You will gain a ton of power when you get tuned, though, because an exhaust on a IX without a tune USUALLY doesn't help much.

I back up some of Warrtalon comments. The main factor here is the driver and also the altitude. We have seen some bad a s s drivers doing high 12's stock and some other drivers doing high 13's and even 14's(not unusual until you know how to launch).

Untouch, the MR should match any 5 speed Evo 9 as the both might cross the 1/4 mile in 4th.

Damn........I sux at driving I keep bogging it out, even when I rev it up to the stock two step. I'll probably get a set of cams, o2 housing and then get it flashed.

Only one place to get cams, and they're $900.

Milo,

You should let the guys at MZM do an Ecutek flash on the car. My IX MR is like a night and day difference from when I bought it! The exhaust alone doesn't hardly make any difference on the IX when untuned. BUT... .once you flash, look out!!

Just wondering- why is it that some ix's trap at 106-107 stock and some don't? Are you referring to driver differences or an actual production variance between cars?

**sorry for off topic** Milo, my brother said he met u down at SAR friday night and also again on the hill country drive on saturday. Hewas visiting from Ny, i had to work so i let him tear up my car to enjoy himself. It was his first time to any track and the only time he drove my car was to the track and at the track. He ran a 12.7@94 with a 1.8 60ft but slammed on the brakes at the 1000ft mark as he was told by the track officals to make sure he didnt run faster then a 13.9.... cause he had no helmet and they were sold out at the time. Send me a pm some time.

1) Driver differences (launch ability, shifting speed, shift points)
2) producation variances - I've seen some IXs put down 240whp and others 265whp on the same dayno same day, but both were stock
3) Conditions - altitude, temperature, humidity, track prep, track speed

Saw a IX the other night at the strip. Didn't see what he had done but with a terrible launch (2.3 best I think) he ran a 13.3. Sort of depressing when you have an 03, drive somewhat decent and almost get beat by a bad driven IX

Yeah, I'll pretty sure I'll let MZM do the reflash on my EVO 9, but I want to finish up my 300zx Turbo project first before I start dumping some money on the Evo.

PhoenixEvo, I did meet your brother at SAR, he did some awesome driving You should come by the 1431 meet sometime.

Okay, Thanks. I didn't realize there could be a 25 hp difference stock to stock.

And whatever you dont drop your clutch, thats probably why your bogging, instead try to quickly feather it out. You will get a much better launch this way.
