05 limiter/launch control?
05 limiter/launch control?
alright guys, i got an 05 evo brand new and everything and i had it for a year and never acutally tried launching it until today. so im all rdy hoping that its going to bounce off 5000 perfect for the launch but nothing happened, it just went straight to 7k like an 03. i know im doing everything right cos i tried a few times being in first with the clutch all the way in and nothing..
the only thing i could think of is that i got a autostarter within my viper remote installed previously, and could it be this thats causing my car is not bouncing off 5k anyways any advice would be nice.
doesnt really bother me too much since imma get tunned very very shortly so wanted to know if the 2 step launch control that al does comes with the tune or if sean ivey does the 2 step also
but if i get a piggyback system, would i be able to get the 2 step control?

That's a bunch of separate questions. Try to narrow it down.
First of all, if you are STATIONARY with the clutch fully-depressed, and then are revving to 7k easily without hitting the launch limiter, then there is a problem. Either the switch was disconnected under the dash, or the signal was somehow interrupted by whatever you had installed.
You need to check the switch, because on 05/06s, even when you get the Dynoflash launch control, you can DEACTIVATE it by disconnecting the 5k limiter switch just like before the flash. I have verified this by launching with my 6k 2-step, then disconnecting the switch and doing my old feather launch from 6k back-to-back. I don't know about Sean Ivey, but that's an EcuTek, so it should have launch control abilities, but it costs much more.
If you get a piggyback, get one that offers launch control, then the flash doesn't matter. If you get one without launch control, you would need a Dynoflash with launch control, then remember when tuning that you already are tuned and start from there.

The reason your not getting the launch control is because of your autostart. To have autostart with Viper you must be able to start the car without the clutch in so it has to be disconnected/disabled. For example, I tried to hit the launch control on an '05 without the clutch in and it will just rev to 7k but when you push the clutch in the launch control is enabled.
I hope this helps.
