yea if your exhaust is bentit most likely cracked something up front as well.

i dont think anything exhaust is cracked elsewhere, it was just a bent tip. Its just that the tip isnt seperate, and the muffler isnt able to be ordered seperate either..

it drove home fine and pulled hard.

you did the right thing, people cant be nice anymore. same thing just happened to me but some backed into the front of my 240. he tried playing the i just started working 2 weeks ago i have no money. im like **** THAT! give me your insurance info. now the only thing i would say would take some time would be getting that check after we got the value of damage estimate we are still awaiting the check. good luck with everything

 

Update. I checked on the car today. They say it will be done by friday.. hopefully. I ended up going with an OEM bumper since I couldn lose the crash bar and I wanted my car back sooner. I figure I can always do an IX bumper at any time, since I get to keep my bent tip exhaust, and sell it, that would cover it if I wanted to..
My question..

Is it normal for OEM bumpers for 9's to come white.

They ordered it in white and are color blending the fenders to my a piller since I had lower fender damage as well.

Or did they order it in white specifically cause they had to paint, and it really was available in GG, but it was easier to blend by getting a white one?

That's pretty retarded that they ordered a white one. If it comes in the color of your car, why not order it. IF it doesn't match, then paint it. Sounds like the shop is trying to make some extra money in labor. Tell your insurance agent this. Then have the shop order the right one.

 

im saying, i dont know if regular bumpers come in specific colors. I know the JDM rears come in certain colors, but GG is not a pre painted color, because of that color not being offered.. but I am unsure if GG bumpers are available for 06 ix..

It was actually at CSUN that I got hit.

Either way, car is sanded and prepped, so there is no stopping them. Its also not my bill, so im only concerned in how it looks when its done, it just struck me as odd.

 

jdm IX rear bumpers do not come in GG. you are better off using white or black as base and get it repainted.

If the fenders needed paint, then most likely painting it all at once will allow for it to blend better.

 

USDM bumpers do not come painted. They only come in white.
