Altezzas and clear tail lights are rice (EVO8 tail lights).... so you
can't get anymore "ricer" by changing to EVO7 tail lights...

 

Wow this post was a bit of a waste, they should make a whole forum to talk about stuff if it is "rice" or not, not really lol, but i thought and have heard that the term rice was referred to asian car companys because cavalier and neon owners got scarred because they werent the only ones on the sport compact seen, and saying if something is rice or not, is about as dumb as a focus,neon, or cavalier owner talking bout how they hate foreign cars yet they try to make it look like one by "ricing" it out, putting on their mods and exterior accessories to make it look like a foriegn car.

Why are altezza's ricey? I agree that on some cars they look just plain ugly as ****. But just cause the EVO has em makes the EVO ricey? wtf? I thinkt hey look good i think both the 7 and 8 look good and if they come stock on the car... how can the car be ricey? I don't think changing to the 7 makes it ricey and i don't think keeping the 8's do. It's all the aftermarket spoilers, the body kits, the stickers, the coffee can exhaust tips and persons attitude that make the car ricey. 7 or 8 rear lights are both nice, and like that one guy said this whole "i must have jdm" **** is kinda lame too, that's gona start a whole other "rice" category

 

Altezza's are ricey... period.
As you already mentioned... they are ugly as ****... and the fact
they are ricer's first choice of mod...

But.. IMO, EVO8 is not ricey b/c of altezza's... simply b/c factory
put them on the car.. not the owners... It is still ugly though.. but
that is being tolerated b/c it being such a good performance
bargain...

I put forth that "rice" is bling bling on the cheap. Since moving from the EVO 8 lights takes away bling bling and is not cheap, I submit that this operation is not "rice", but anti-"rice".

 

how about preferance... ? point being "I" (my own opinion) are the stock taillights are UGLY... therfore I want to change them... the term "rice" is the most juvenile "concept" in the auto world today.

And I do agree that are million stickers are useless, unless you get PAID for them, or if its a show car

I don't like "rice"...that is why I am considering replacing the factory Altezza lights (commonly called "rice" when people buy them) with a more classy looking Evo 7 light. Not rice...just style.

 

I don't think the atlezza's look bad on the evo8 and i don't think it makes the car rice, on CERTAIN cars i said it makes em look ugly as **** and on some, like the is300(altezza in japan) it looks ok

 

Too ricey for my taste. I will deal with it untill I get he Evo 7 replacements. Designed for the younger folks, I'm too old for that flashy stuff.

And in case it matters I didn't buy them (although I would have eventually) I swapped them. And they work flawlessly apart from one reversing light, which functions as a high-intensity foglight in the Euro VII tails. Hardly a disaster.
