Tryin to keep it quiet

All-

I am currently on the hunt for a new car , and I am doing a little research on the evo as I narrow down my options. I like to mod and I am currently enjoying my forced induction but the power I want just isnt there.

If I go evo the first thing Im going to be looking at is a TBE, however I want to keep it quiet this time, avoid the drone that I am getting with my GLi (no-res).

So, what I am looking for is something that will remain quiet while crusing, without sacrificing performance. However if I let her rip, I want the thing to roar.

Any Suggestions

get an HKS but get the silencer tip that you can just bolt it in when you want it quiet. Makes it really nice when you are going on road trips and the car doesn't echo inside.

you could just get and aftermarket downpipe and have a shop weld one of these into it...

that way you can keep the stock cat and the stock cat back section, so you would be quiet like stock, or loud like an airplane at the flip of a switch.

Greddy Evo II. Perhaps the nicest fit of all the exhaust and indeed the quiets.

Stay away from the HKS. Yeah, makes great power but it is loud and the silencer (which doesn't come with it) really robs you of all the power (and then some) you just gained putting on the cat-back. I know this from personal experience. I switched to the Fujitsubo RM01A which yielded more power and is almost impossible to tell from stock. With a downpipe and midpipe, it's still more quiet than the HKS with the stock downpipe and stock cat! Yes, the Fujitsubo has two resonators, no they don't really neck down to 2.25", and yes, it makes good power. Probably within 3-5hp of the Buschur.

Its perfect, around town it sounds how the stock one sounds at low rpm but when you get on boost it makes people turn their heads

borla catback, with turbo xs down pipe, perrin test pipe with check engine light fix. Take cover off stock evo cat and put around the test pipe so it passes visual inspection. Looks like stock cat and the catback looks like stock. My buddy has this setup and its pretty quiet and hes making 350whp with his other parts. 3 inch all the way. I think Im going with a turboxs turboback even though I heard it is loud(makes nice numbers though).
