problem with the gas gauge
problem with the gas gauge
i just had an upgraded fuel pump installed about two days ago, and when i was going to leave for work my gas gauge said it was empty and the light was lit up. i know i had atleast half a tank left last night. any suggestions on what the problem is and what i can do? thanks
Check the arm on the side of the plastic pump housing. It has a floatation device on it that corresponds to the gas in the tank. If you somehow have it pinned down it will read the gas on "E".
It's a hassle to pull the pump back out, but I'd start there.

no gas or hose leaks. i think it was the floater because i was parked on the driveway and its kind of an uphill driveway. i parked it this morning on level ground and it started to rise.
I have had my walboro for about a year now and ever since I installed the walboro in my car I noticed that the gas gauge doesn't read properly. The needle would drop to a quarter tank and soemtimes rise slowly back up to a half and etc. It's weird, but I got used to it... I guess its normal for it to fluctuate like this? Nothing major, but I wish we had like a digital gas mileage reading in our cas as well 8-x
I don't have a fuel (Or any mods in general) and my gas gauge does that too. It'll start out low, sometimes even with the light on and whilst I'm driving it'll start to raise slowly.
Even if I park or even surface (In my garage) it still does it.

ok cool.. I guess its normal for our cars then.. Only thing I hate is the fact that the gas gauge will read lower than how much gas is actually in the tank 8- ( So when its on empty and the light is on, it would rise to a quarter tank. But when I really need gas, I wouldn't know if the car is empty or not; though, it hasn't happened to me yet 8-)
