Forge BOV question

Hello,

Which spring should I use with my forge BOV (don't know the version or anything, plain black looking similar to stock) on my stock psi?

There really isn't a big difference between stock bov and Forge, is there? My stock wasn't leaking and sounded exactly the same and the forge.

I'm looking for a great performance and a great sound, no "kept to minimum". Something out of stock replacements.

What can you suggest?????

BY the way willing to trade my forge if there is something good out there. It's a day old.

The purpose of the BOV is not to make noise - it's to hold boost completely without leaking. Why did you get that old Forge if you're on stock boost? Please don't rice out your Evo and treat it like a Honda...

and as far as making your BOV louder... you could take off the snorkel for the airbox, take out the louvre... (neither i recommend because youre making the ambient air much hotter thats going into yer airbox) or the better options; get a VTA valve (and i guess run speed density instead of MAF to ensure safe A/F ratios) and get a tube intake instead of an airbox (requires tuning as well) more airflow in general = leaner mixture. if u have any more questions pm me

oh and i forgot... a simple bang for your buck is to get a higher flowing drop in filter like the HKS hybrid filter... I got one cus i needed a new airfilter anyways and i noticed that the foam filters let more PSSST noise out. i THINK u could maybe even convert the stock valve to VTA. thats a whole nother thread though

Dustin, you know you can just edit your initial post and add all the new info rather than replying to yourself each time.

Please stop telling this guy how to make noise. I don't give a damn about the "to each his own" in this case. He needs to learn that is right and what is wrong. After that, if he STILL wants his Evo to run like crap just so he can hear the BOV purge, then he can do so, but I highly doubt he understand the purpose of a BOV and the ramifications of getting one that's noisy (VTA).

I do not recommend the HKS filter - it has to be replaced. It also makes almost no difference in noise. The best way to "make noise" is to get a cone filter for $80, then get tuned immediately. My fully-recirculating Forge RS is louder than I can stand, and that's just because I have a basic Buschur filter.

The APS twin vent bov is great, I've been using it on mine for 2 months now with no problems

if u want something to perform, keep it recirculating, if u want it loud so u can scare old ladies, get a blow off valve. dont come crying when u have idlening issues.

If it's an EVO15 Valve it will have a Blue Spring in it keep it that way for stock boost to 25psi+ anything over 30 you will need the Red spring.

So blue is the best????

By the way ladies I'm not trying to get a ricer sound, what I'm trying to do is to get rid off the vaccum sound long woosh and have one solid whoosh when needed. And to your knowledge even stock BOV is damn loud ( I run Injen Intake set up with UICP) just so you don't think it's pure stock and just looking for a damn whoosh. I know it's good for boost, but the sound being not solid kills me.
