how dyou guys deal with this, while speeding up on the streets, a park patrol car is parked on the side of the road and his radar is turned off. You just pass by him on a obvious over speeding speed. So your detector cant do anything right? Would cops pull you over without evidence of your speed? Just by assuming that you were speeding?

actually got out of not paying the citation, i asked for a court appearance because i exhausted my traffic school eligibility. and i WON my case. the court didn't subpoena him for my case. ohhh... he was there but not for my case. and you know the best part was when he recognized me when i gave him a smart *** smirk, "WHATS UP"...LOLLOLLOL.

VALENTINE1 IS THE SICKEST WHEN ITS ON!!!!!

I have the escort passport and the laser shifter. Best mod I ever got. Got stopped once caught by radar. I was in an area where i typically get a false alert and one day i happened to be a speed trap. Hasn't happened to me since (**knocks on wood**)

v1 never been pulled over with it.

my friend has escort 8500, and does 90-95 set on cruise control about 30 weekends per year, and he's only had one ticket, and it was a cop using pop in vermont.

I like my v1, i think the v1 is more for more advanced radar users that don't care about alerts and muting...

from what I've read the v1 has more false alarms, and the escort 8500 also has auto mute which is a nice feature.

I just purchased 2 escorts this weekend for my gf and mom.

Hmm... personally, i just don't like the idea of having my display up there on my mirror because have to keep looking upwards in order to see what its doing. I prefer my customized V1 remote display nicely tucked away just above my gauges. My friend took the display and removed the whole back portion, and moved the plug so it actually sticks straight out the back.

He may still be making them. His site is www.audimods.com

First off i tend not to drive incredibly fast, especially in non highway areas. I also don't drive much over the limit if i'm the only car on the road in an area where i know the cops hang out.

On drives to vegas, i'll get warnings from my V1 that a cop is on Ka some 6-8 miles away across the desert. Its insane how well it works.

If you go into the program mode on the V1 you can turn off X-band. Which greatly reduces false alarms. Only now and then do i get false alarms on K band. And NEVER will i get a false on Ka.

well you know you didn't get hit with radar with either of these units. he can say he paced you, but that's a lie. if he claims radar you should ask him to see it in a nice way. You should also tell him you weren't speeding, your car is just a little louder than most cars. i think in the end you get this one reduced or thrown out

Security systems, automatic doors at markets and strip malls, etc.

I've never seen a cop use X nor have i heard of one using X band in California.

Almost all police use Ka. Sometimes K. I've only seen laser once and that was a bike cop on the bridge while i was driving through the seal beach naval weapons station. I was 7mph over the limit and got hit, being the only car on the road. He motioned for me to slow down with his hand. I breathed a huge sigh of relief.

I have the 8500 and busted for doing 83 in a 65 (the office paced me) and there was no way out of that ticket. He could have gotten me for a lot more like crossing the gore, and crossing 3 lanes of traffic (had my blinker on) to get over to the fast lane.
The blinker saved me from an aggressive driving ticket and I totally deserved that ticket. Went to traffic school this past Mon and Tues night and now I still have a clean record.

+1.
I have the 8500 and I got lasered awhile back. Nothing would have saved me unless I was going slower, not in the left lane, and less tint... The cop commented on how fast I slowed down and motioned towards the detector. ha.

It does go off a bunch though, and usually with lots of warning. But cops are getting much smarter and only turning on the gun when they need it.

The truth is, with modern radar equipment, it gets harder and harder for detectors to be effective.....I am a little dissapointed with the laser performance of both detectors to tell you the truth, but I guess I have not seen anything that is any better.
