Trackdays
Trackdays
I've been seeing people run their Evo's at trackdays in the NorthEast and am interested in doing so. Can you guys post some of the clubs you belong to. Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Beaver Run, VIR and Poconos are the tracks that are near me. Any help would be appreciated.
PDA at www.imp-auto, and SCDA at www.scda1.com are both good organizations with no marque affiliation.
Cheers,
Cheers,

Marc Nguyen is the contact, and if he's any indication of the rest of the club, they are a cool bunch.
NASA - www.nasaproracing.com is probably the best thing to join (if you are planning on joining somewhere)
They have everything from 4 step HPDE to full racing (similar to SCCA)....... If you join a BMW club or Porsche club, they frown if you show up with other cars, and sometimes put you at the bottom of the list if you don't have a porsche, etc......
Some tracks do their own thing like summit point with Friday At The Track.
I plan to run www.Beaverun.com with the OHIO chapter of NASA, and eventually get a license so i can race (i only need two more HPDE's to attempt to get the license). There are lots of classes to race from cheap bmw's, miata's, mustangs, vipers, etc.....

I have a 914 porsche so i am legit in the PCA, but they would not let me bring any of my other cars to any events...... I think it was the Washington DC PCA...? or Northern Virginia or something like that...... so..... I joined NASA and can take anything I want.
I have heard the other clubs (BMW) sometimes are jerky's like that.

I haven't found that to be true, but I guess different area clubs have different representatives.

I instruct with the Minnesota chapters of the BMW and Corvette clubs even though I don't own either marque. The track we generally use is BIR (Brainerd International Raceway). The local Porsche club, on the other hand, does not allow drivers who don't own Porsche's. However, PCA (Nordstern) does allow it's members to bring non-Porsche cars to track events.
