1st option depends.. could cost you around 1-10k
2nd option,, 280 buck... I saw one on ebay last time...

In case some of you guys were interested in what a pace intercooler looks like when fitted, here's a picture of my car with the bumper off and **** exposed.

Pace claims that all you have to do to fit this monstrous IC is to replace the fan with a slimer one (included in the Kit), flip the bracket for the powering steering bar that runs parallel to the radiator, and WALA! Yeah right, try having to shave a piece off the brackets that hold the stock fog lights in place in order to accomodate the new pipes introduced. Also, cut the pins that hold the main IC grill off because they just get in the way, and then maybe, just maybe your bumper will once again bolt on and fit. I guess Pace didn't expect people with GSR 5s to fit their intercooler on the car, considering the fact that the RS models didn't come with the foggers in the front. Or, maybe they were bias and only took the Evo 6 bumper design into consideration, and then claimed that their IC will fit both 5 & 6 equally without taking into consideration that the bumpers in fact do differ with both models. Anyway, It was worth it!

I guess I haven't answered some of people's questions.

Machomachacho, WOW I had to look 3 times at your post to ensure that I got the spelling right on this one. Anyway, on some evos, all it takes is a full exhaust system (downpipe, decat, and cat back) and an atmospheric blow off valve (like HKS SSQ) for it to pop fire ***** out the back. Since the ATmo BOV makes the car run alittle richer, next thing you know you'll here a pop, and a small flame will come out the exhaust.

Now, the real way, the big flame outs and pops you see on the WRC rally cars, is to run a simple program called Antilag on your programmable ECU (Like GEMS, Autronic, Motec, EVOLINK, Haltech, Wolf, etc.). What the antilag does is it keeps the throtle plate slightly open (mild antilag) or fully open (aggressive antilag) during shifts, and fuel continues to run. Not to go into too much details of the inner workings of antilag, it simply causes all that extra fuel to go to your exhaust and spark those huge flames you see on rally cars. Dont expect your turbo to last very long if you run antilag constantly.

Now the third option, what I like to call the fugazze one, is to drill a hole as close to your muffler as possible, put a spark plug there, run a switch, and flip it on. The spark from the plug will ignite any excess fuel that happens to get down there, and next thing you know, your car is shooting flames like the rally cars. You can buy a kit pre-assembled, or create your own. I reccommend using a separate coil with a relay rather than running directly to the battery or the stock coil, install it somewhere in the trunk, run a plug cable through the trunk floor, connect it to the plug, and run a wire to the front of the car where you can connect it to a switch. Mind you, this system might only work on turbo cars, I'm unsure which non-turbo cars it will work on, probably none.

Now, the 4th and final option, what I like to call the INSANE IN THE BRAIN option, AKA the option I chose , is to run both antilag and hook up a spark plug in the back. With a setup like this on my car, and with a really aggressive antilag program loaded to my EVOLINK, I can easily shoot out 6 to 8 feet flames, make the car flame out for 15 to 20 seconds on downshifts, and cause all my friends to just fall on the floor laughing like idiots.

I know, its really silly, but there's no law against being silly otherwise most of the honda civic owners I know would be caned and locked up for life. You'll scare everyone on the road thinking your car is on fire, you'll keep people from tailgatting you, you'll get people scared to race you thinking your car is jet powered, it will light your fireworks on the 4th of July , It will give you a real good reason to own and have a fire extinguisher inside your car, etc. etc. etc. I'm sure most of you can think of millions of other reasons to shoot flames out the tail of your car.

regards,

LEE

Well FOLKS, there it is: detailed methods of achieving the flamethrower effect. I don't think I will be trying either the FUGAZZI or the INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE any time soon LOL jigga for the tech tips
