3 things wrong with your story

1. if u had 100k+ to spend on a car you WOULD NOT get a mitsubishi! i dont car who you are you would be driving a porsche caymann at LEAST or a bmw or something...

2. no one in there right mind would drop 75k into a 35ish thousand dollar car...it economically doesnt make sense...

and finally if you had all this moey you wouldnt be doing the work you self because people that drop money like that into cars want to MAKE SURE its done by a professional and they get quality work...and dont care about cost of labor...

oh and for what its worth AMS will build u a faster car then there shop car...reason being they dont care if they have the 2nd fastest evo ( this point was brought up when they were building chris's car and look he has more hp then there shop car!)

so stop day dreaming and go to school/ work and buy a honda and THEN put ur k&n intake and your oz racing rims on!
There are a lot of people who are "not in their right mind," like me. Also, nothing about cars makes "economical" sense.

Design engineer? Doing what? I too am 24, with a design position and an engineering degree from Purdue, I cannot grasp you having the expertise to make that much money yet be so clueless about the mechanical aspects of your car or the upgrades that you want to make to it...

Anyway I am going to japan this summer to check out some of their companies and what they can do.

so what if the car was 35k i couldnt get the skyline gtr and i dont want the diablo or 911

Also I do the work with friends who are professional mechanics couple of em with shops. Ever hear of formula D and HIN???
Apparently you don't get it. If you are going for the fastest in the world .1 of a second does matter. You are going to need all of .1 and .001 of a second you can get.

I don't get why you think AMS won't build a car that is faster than their shop car. So what if your car is faster, they still built it and can take credit for it.

Just remember when you run out of talent and wad this one up it doesn't just bounce off the wall and there isn't a reset button.

I wouldn't brag if I were you. Bragging about your "money" is just like what those goofy gangsta rappers do. Then they go broke. It might annoy people and then you will see negative results from members here. Just a suggestion.

I work for DaimlerChrysler in Auburn Hills, MI at CTC (Chrysler Technology Center), within the concept group. It's all about who you work for and where you are working. Detroit is the motor city, you cant expect to do better unless your in Tokyo.

I also have a Holinger dog box with a sequential shifter - about $20k installed

Add a clutch and all drivetrain mods and add another $8k.

Cage and interior $4k

Wheels and tires $5K

There's your $75k.

Is you want all JDM parts but still want 900awhp add about 50% to that cost.

Keep in mind that your factory warranty might be voided, hahaha. In otherwords be realistic about your ability to maintain a car like this as it's not cheap. Things break on a regular basis when you race 1000 HP cars.

Or, let me have some fun with my setup this summer and I'll sell it to you for less than $75k in September allowing you to keep your Evo as a daily driver! I have over $115k into this car. Good luck!
you have 115k into your evo????????? and you have what done?

Your missing my point, a person would need much technical and mechanical knowledge to get that position, and your posts demonstrate a lack of both. I know a few people that work at Auburn Hills (DCX) that are into Evos, maybe you can give me a name and they can help ya out....

I've moved on. We were able to get to 650 awhp without any problems and the care was running in the high 10's. Once we pushed beyond that amount we kept running into problems and I got tired of the down time. I sent the car to AMS and they have some really interesting ideas to help move the twincharging concept along and into the realm of really high HP. However, they needed 4 months to complete this project so I decided to give up on it for now and go with a traditional drag setup. This winter, if I decide to keep the car they will complete the twincharge concept using some of their own ideas. The good news is that the engine, GT42r turbo, etc., will not go to waste if I pursue this setup again. Bert from Union7 was a one man show and he just didn't have the resources to pull this off in a timely matter. AMS is a different story as they have the resources, experience, and some great ideas.

I'm really not sure what I'll do after this summer and I might wind up just selling the car. The current AMS setup on my car is very unique and I believe that I'm the only Evo with their new destroked 2.2L engine besides their shop drag car. It should make well over 900 awhp.
