dp and CB with stock cat

I have a 3" Brushur CB w/magnaflow exhaust and magnaflow resonator. Im planning to pickup a espelir 2.75" dp from a fellow member here and bolt it up to the stock cat.

Do you think this is a good idea? Will I kill the stock cat much quicker with this setup? is the performance gain going to be useless having the stock cat so I shouldnt bother with the dp at all?

Sorry for the noob question.

And advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Just take out the cat. put it in for emissions. You will see much more HP without it and better spool-up. Just make sure u get a tune and fuel pump.

how much of a gain we are talking about with out the cat? I prefer leaving the stock cat alone and not really looking for crazy amt of gain and I prefer the sound level of having a cat.

So im guess a tune is must one you pop in dps correct?

Thanks for the input.

buy a 3" high-flow cat and be done
but if yuo are not pushing much power over stock the stock cat is sufficient.

You won't gain anything with the addition of a DP while still having the stock cat. You also won't need a retune.

With the removal of the cat and addition of the DP, you'll gain ~15whp plus spoolup and be able to run more boost than if you had the stock exhaust parts.

If you're going to keep the stock cat, you have no need to spend your money on that DP.

Should take out the cat, I was surprised just how much peppier it got just by replacing the cat with a test pipe and still retaining the stock downpipe and stock catback, but now I have plans for a full turboback exhaust.
