Any Lancer owner mount their gauges in A pillar?

I'm thinking of putting some gauges in A pillar. Is there anyone out there does that before? I've seen some carbon fiber pods to hold the gauges, however I'd rather getting a color matching pod (grey) to hold the gauges. Unfortunately I do not come across any web sites that has such parts and/or pictures.

If you come across any sites with the parts or pics, please let me know!

Thanks!

sing with me now...... rice rice baby..... rice rice baby........

You may need to mount a fire-extinguisher on the passenger A-pillar if you really want to look cool.

while i personally hate how a-pillar guages look, the evo definitely needs a boost gauge at least, and a egt and s/f gauge would be nice too... he probably has the same dilemna as the rest of us, where the hell to put them, as there's no good place for them, so the a-pillar is as good a place as any.. i dont think that quite counts as rice... unless he's going leave them empty or put something useless in there.

I'm personally saving up to try and get a CAMP running, but in he meanwhile im looking to see how others set up gauges, to see if any look good and worthwhile... even A-pillar mounts.

btw, I have no good info on the mounts... try posting in show and shine, im sure the lancer owners will be able to help more.

Yer a dumbass. It's not about looking cool. It's about knowing what the hell is goin on in and around yer engine and turbo. Call me rice, but I'm goin with the A pilar.

Thats a cool gauge cluster, although i dont know how functional it would actually be, being that it so far out of your eye-line. I wamt my boost gauge close to the dash cluster. should have put a boost gauge where that stupid "lancer" gauge is.

Just keep above 4 grand for boost. I just want a boost guage for tuning purpose. Hey look these look better but look where installed them for the states because they wouldn't give us auto climate controls for a 30K car! for a 2 din setup like the GSR version we were suppose to get

Exactly. The reason why I'm going after A-pillar gauges is because it is much easier to read compare to the factory accessory gauges. I have this feeling because I jumped into a Evo with the factory accessory gauges and it requires too much effort to read - located way too low, and the gauges are too small. I really don't understand why not moving the a/c control of the USDM Evo to the place where the JDM Evo locates.

FYI, I'm not getting them because of how cool it looks, but I'd like to get more info from the car.

As a comparision, here's the factory gauges from my Pulsar. Gauges are not that much larger, but at least it's much easier to read. If the USDM Evo gauges are located that high I might already got that by now, and not worrying about the void warrenty issue...

I've started another thread in Show and Shine. For those who's interested you can follow up from there as well.

Thanks!

Live it up man. Maybe slap on some stickers (maybe you already did), and possibly some pep boys merchandise to boot.

A-pillar gauges look stupid no matter what kind of car. You can surely find a better location!

What a crappy response. Who gives a s**t about what somebody thinks anyway, the man wants a gauge to check his engine and there is no good place for it... why not use whats available? and who made you the judge of what's cool anyway?

Rice Rice

I don't want to get personal on this nor do I want to turn this to a flaming thread. It'd be great if you could advise a location where we can fit boost gauge, oil temp gauge, and oil pressure gauge at a location where driver can easily read the gauges? I'm sure we all open to useful suggestions so feel free to give out alternatives.

By the way, I am not a believer on putting sticker will boost hp in any mean, nor many other Evo owners on the board. To me, I want the gauges to get more info of the car instead of 'look cool'. If I have to say, driving a Evo around will give you all the attention you and there is no need to put in any of this 'just to look cool'. If I want more even attention or more people praising me, I got my JDM Pulsar.

Hey ishi-san, Thanks for the advise, I'll check out the Greddy web site. By the way, you got a cool looking Evo 4! Looks like a great show car to me. Keep it up!

A-Pillar is strategically a great place to put gauges, easy to read and doesn't obscure anything.

I don't understand where MEGABUSA is getting the whole rice thing?? There are GT class cars and many other cars with A-Pillar gauges, you calling those europeans rice too?
