free scheduled maint.-- transferable?
I bought a used '04 Evo which came with free scheduled maintenance for 45 months/45k miles. I know this because I have all the paperwork and receipts from the previous owner.
I'll be having the 15k mile interval serviced tomorrow, and when I made the appointment I made it clear I was bringing it in for free scheduled maint. He didn't ask for the VIN or look up my name.
As far as I can tell, the program is based on the VIN, not the owner. But nowhere is it explicitly stated whether or not the free maintenance is transferable to subsequent owners.
Can someone knowledgeable confirm this please? Thanks

Well, unfortunately, I can't confirm that the free maintenance is transferable, but I can confirm that it's based on the VIN. When you get there, before you hand over the car, have them look up the VIN. They will see the car and see which services have already been performed for free, and then they should provide you the next service in the list.
That's amazing that it's only at 15k.
Btw, it's 3yrs/45k (36mos), so you might not have a lot of time left on it.

36mo, are you sure? The letter here from Mitsu "explaining" the maint coverage says 45mo. 45 does seem like an odd number, but there it is...
Yeah I lucked out and found a low-mile one.
