alky/ meth safe?

alky/ meth safe?

question is the alky/ meth tanks that are stored in the rear of the truck safe? not meaning safe of the motor but safe from catching fire upon an impact. reason i have two small children that i sometimes take to daycare and i want to know if its safe?

put a vent tube to direct the fumes out of the car.

the methanol will not ignite if there is no spark or flame present.

Yes it will ignite. No it is not "Safe". It is just a plastic tank that is filled with flammable liquid. If you get hit just right it can crack and leak. If that Methanol comes in contact with an ignition source your car is toast. Solutions?

1) Use water or water:meth mixed. Under a certain percentage meth it does not burn.
2) Don't worry about it. The chances of this happening are probably less than the chances of getting hit by a bus while crossing the street.
