Evo IX vs. STI aerodynamics
Here are few scans from local magazine which lately reviewed euro spec evo IX and 06 STI. The review itself is nothing new though they also brought cars to the wind tunnel.
The red arrow represents lift at air flow of 40m/s (around 144km/h or ~90mph), the blue – at 55m/s (approximately 200km/h or 124mph). The lift is measured in newtons. One newton equals roughly 0.22 lbs.

maybe the reason why the sti had more rear end down force is because it had more lift on the front end which transfer the car's weight to the rear. just a thought.
