How in the hell do I get rid of this light located under the speedo? I have a feeling the dealer put this in for the oil change as it went on right before 3700 miles and thats what mileage the dealer book recomends for an oil change. This is not considered a check engine light is it? If I have to go to the dealer to get this light shut off cuz they want to do my oil changes, I,m going to be

Its not mileage activated, that is the same thing as a check engine light. If its stock bring it back to the dealer.

 

If that light is on , something is wrong. Get that code scanned and find out what it is. The light would come up on its own if everything was working ok.

 

Thanx people, I did a search and could not find out if 'service engine soon' was indeed or the same as a CEL. Plus the fact that my other car does this when it needs an oil change

 

I dont think the two are related? What kind of car is your other car? That light may just be a maintenance light and the CEL or SES light is another light.
