big mistake. please help

Ok, so I'm not the master tuner I thought I was. My intake heat shield melted this wire. Do I have to take this to someone and pay a lot of money to get it fixed? or can I just take a soldering iron and patch things up?

Good luck getting just the plug. If you can get just the plug soldier them back onto their original wires. Do not use crimp caps, nor just twist the ends together and tape. Soldier and tape. And it looks like the MAF plug to me.

really your best bet is to go to a mitsubishi dealer and get a new MAF plug, unless you can find an evo in a junk yard...Good luck with that! but i would do it myself, not that hard. go to a parts store get a wire prong remover for removing the wires from the old connector its like $5.00 and get a new connector from your local dealer. that is what i would do.

Yeah. I really should have done more research before I bought it. I don't mean to say that it is bad. I just read about people say the factory one is good enough. It was just a case of late night drunken internet impulse buying.

By the way is MAF the same as MAS. Because if it isn't I think I ment to say it's the MAS plug. I really know nothing about my car and want to learn.

can you buy the plugs from mitsu seperately? i know i needed an RX-7 map sensor plug for a power fc 3-bar map sensor in my civic and mazda said they don't sell just the plug, i'd have to buy a new harness. maybe mitsu is different though? anyone know for sure?

yeah I bought the AEM one cuz AEM is awesome and it made it possible to hear the BOV. it made the BOV like 4 times louder, probably the same sound as any CAI. just dont know what i am going ot do with the AEM one now, lol.
