Exhaust Tip

Okay -- I bought the helix cat-back exhaust over a year ago and the tip is really really black. I have tried everything to get it clean. Each day it gets darker.

I have tried all the metal polishes on the market but nothing is working....

Does anyone have any advice? Suggestions PLEASE

Then can an exhaust shop simply take the tip off and re-attach a new tip?

Usually if metal polish will not take it off it's permanently stained. The only other thing I could sugest would be some steel wool or very fine scotch brite and be prepared to polish your a*s off to get rid of the swirls and scratches it is going to cause.

Get your car tuned. Usually excessive soot comes from running too rich. I've noticed a huge reduction in soot after getting my car custom tuned.
