evo 1/4 mile times confusing
I am pretty confused about some quarter mile times I have seen from evo's.I have a evo VII GSR with full exhaust(3inch),boost controller(high boost 20psi),fuel controller, hks super power flow filter kit.
At the track the best time the car put down was a 13.56
I live in the caribbean though and this was in HOT sun..but still!
Recently since the evo 8 has come out I have seen a Number of companies for example ultimate racing and vivid racing test their quarter mile times with just some slight mods on their cars.Mods just like mine, some with even less boost.like 18.Some with just a downpipe and exhaust.and when tested these cars made 12.57 and 12.9s which are excellent times.
Has anyone with a evo 7 timed their cars...like with minor mods like mine.Or even stock.
Cause I am really confused.
thanks!

It has to be your location. Heat soak and elevation are probably your biggest enemies right now. A lot of people here are running better times than yours with a bone stock US Evo 8. What were your trap speeds?
well trigeek37 ,as much as I agree with you and thought that I was at fault,I let a race car driver time the car last timing day.And he had a 0.58 RT off the line.
My reaction time is 0.7-0.8 most of the times and I launch pretty hard....6000rpms and slip the clutch.
Probably could be the tuning as jonasan50 said but I have a really good tuner and I have faith in him so I would hope not.
Evilution had a good enough reason. You guys up there time in good conditions.During the day when we time here it is all 34-35 degrees celcius. Thanks evilution ..I hope that this really is the problem.by the way ...the trap speeds are around 97-102mph

Here is a really important question. What octane are you running and what is your 60ft time?
You need to launch at around redling or start at 3-4k floor it and ease of the clutch rapidly and smoothly. You should get 1.7's in the 60ft.
I remember california evo 7 loose over 20 wheel horsepower from running thier gas. You need basically 100 ron i think.

Man I hope you're running premium in your car. If not with those mods I bet you have ruined a couple of cylinders in your motor. Get a compression test done and make sure your motor is ok. I melted 2 cylinders in my Supra due to improper tuning. I wasn't the one who tuned it but couldn't prove it was the shops fault so I got stuck with a blown motor. Hehe funny thing is with only 4 cylinders I still beat up on Cobras and such in that car. Damn I miss my Supra.
well...yeah it's premium....down here we just called it unleaded(unleaded is unleaded).there's just unleaded/regular/diesel
that is it..you gotta remember I live in the caribbean...it's kinda backward here
but I'll still try and get a compression tese done...
gtr..my 60ft time was 1.96

Well bro i am from barbados and there is alot of highperformance cars there also ,i even got to sit in the evo7 beatiful ,but the fuel there is not that great infact the evo 7 and other turbo car from japan are made to run on very high octane fuel close to or a little over a hundred octane.
so given that info if the car is properly imported by and authorized dealer the cars will be tuned to opperate on our fuel before solded to the public, however they are not, so there are alot of people driving around jap tuned cars running on low octane fuel ,i think our highest octane fuel is 91 but alot of them use octane booster .But never the less if you have a jap tuned car running on low octane fuel the hp output will be considerably less than factoy spec. and so will your 1/4 mile times.
Your car would make way better number if it was up in the states.
