15,000 Mile Severe Service

I took my car in today for service and since it had 13,900 miles I went ahead and asked for the 15k severe service. I asked them to also check the clutch because I thought the throwout bearing may be going do to a grinding noise that would go away when the clutch pedal was depressed.

The service writer called me back and asked if the car was stock, I said yes and asked why? He indicated that when they drained my trans there were metal shavings and that they wanted to schedule a time to pull the tranny. I was suprised, but he said as long as it's stock there won't be any warranty issues. He just wanted to make sure that before they tore it down there wasn't an upgraded clutch or other mods.

The service itself I thought was pretty cheap at $288 for what you get. I'll be taking it in next week some time to have the trans pulled. I am suprised because I've never even done a ***** out launch in this car. It ****s like butter and I've had no issues other than the grinding noise.

Anyway, the dealer gets top marks and I'll post up when I find out what the deal is with the transmission.

I'm not convinced it's not the t/o bearing. Is it really a big deal to have some shavings in the tranny at 13,000 miles?

Just wondering, although I think I already know the answer, but any mods (other than a filter) on a EVO= no more warranty?

Or is it just clutch repair, because they can easily attribute more power to early clutch failure? What if it's something that is not even engine related, will they not even work on our cars if we have mods?

The reason I ask, is because I was having issues with my passenger seat, and I took it in, and they asked if I had mods As if that matters.
