helppp !!

im pretty new to turbo cars and i recently noticed that my car does not feel as powerful as it did when i first got it . I recently had hids installed and i know the battery had to be disconnected. Now i doubt that could have anything to do with it but i have read that some feel that the ecu learns driving habits which i doubt to be true in this car. The car does not feel as torquey as it did when i first got it. Its almost like im loosing boost somewhere and the factory diverter valve is a little louder than it was when i first bought it. the weather here is 80 degrees and over throughout the day , but even at night i experiece the same thing. any ideas ?? or anything i can check for that could have become disconnected?

btw: im totally stock. maybe im just getting use to the power already ??

It could be a combination of things. One your getting used to it. Tell you what someone you trust let them drive your car and you be a passager. For whatever reason that makes you feel the car more. Also it could be the temp change. Is it getting hot in NY yet. Maybe time to adjust your boost levels to compinsate for the hot air. The only thing I can think of is that when working on the HIDs they had to remove the front bumper. There really isnt a whole lot that could of happened. Check your ic pipes and see if anything got moved around. I doubt it though

thanks guys, it just seems like the boost isnt there as it was when i first got it. It is getting hot outside though , i think its like 85 out right now but still... i am having the same problem even at night(if there even is a problem). Having a friend drive the car up the road is a good idea though.

My guess is your getting used to the power. Get a gauge see what your boost is at. 85 is hot enough to make a difference. You could be loosing a couple psi. If your not happy start modding. Its an addiction we all have. Start simple. MBC. inexpensive good mod...

yea i want to start modding cuz i figured getting use to it had a big part of this. I wanted to give the car atleast 3k miles to make sure there are no major problems with it (warranty). i wish this damn car came with a boost guage

You might just be getting use to the power it happens to everyone. If you don't have a boost gauge it would be a good idea to get one so you can monitor your boost.

Ya you can always do what I did and mod stuff that is easily removable and then play dumb when you take it to the dealer. I was putting down about 280 whp at 6800 feet and they did about 4800 in tranny work. O and of course i was stock...

^+1--definitely getting used to it, especially this is your first turbo car. The Evo was my 1st turbo car...and it was amazing different going from a nonturbo/nonsport car to the Evo Viii. After a month or so, I got use it and didn't feel the torque like I first did.

I totally agree about you getting used to the power. This happened to me a couple months ago after I had my Evo for about 3 months. Unfortunately it never stops costing money to keep that feeling around.

I think a big part of it is psychological. Your body subconsciencely anticipates the boost when you're driving. When you're a passenger, the car is under somebody else's control and your body doesn't know what's going to happen so it feels faster.

Just my .02

Sure you just didn't turn on ur AC?, other than that, the ECU "learning" curves are not that drastic, have a boost guage?
