brembos, brembos, brembos. I've lost count of the number of times some never-indicating, cell-phone holding, coffee-drinking, no-handed driver in front of me has caused me to brake in an emergency. I have never had to pull the handbrake - because the amazing brembos bring me to a controlled stop - FAST.
I love my brakes at least as much as my turbo. Great job Mitsu.

That is funny. Where is the AMS Video Crew when you need them. LOL.

Had I been in my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee, I wouldn't even have considered swerving. I would have hit my breaks and immediately looked in my rear view mirror to see if I could stay on them without getting rear-ended. It would have been ugly to see the kind of dents and breakage that I would've had.

Brembos work so good i got rearended....

On my way home from work last year, some twit could not decide is she wanted to get in the left turn lane or not. I was closing on her light on the breaks, She got in the LTL, lady comming behind me looked right to get over one lane, Twit decided to pull back into my lane and stop. I said SH!!!!!!!!t, clammded down hard on the breaks and came to a comlete stop about 1" from here bumper, she looked up and saw me about to smash her and stepped on the gas right as i stopped, I looked up and saw the maxmima haulin as towards me, stommped the gas, dropped the clutch, and WHHAAAMMMMM. Maxima smashed me in the rear right as it squated down and started moving.

Twit in from of me was no where to be found. Did about 10,000 in damage to my car. Totaled the maxima. She never saw me stop cause she was looking right to get over, she never even hit the breaks.

this quote is either dumb or eloquent depending on how much you think about it, but "the best way to survive an accident is to avoid it".

Cool. I had a lady in an SUV -lost and on her phone- swerve into me going about 45. Had I been in my wifes car, she would have pushed me right into and over the median and probably rolled the car. In the Evo, I was able to brake and steer out where she barely glanced my fender. In another car it would have been a total sideswipe or way worse. In my car all I got was this (and a nice check from her husband!):

i was driving once on a neighborhood road, and something caught my eye for a second to look as i looked ahead of me again, a monte carlo was making a turn, i immediately hit the brakes and turned to veer into the right. i of course saved myself and the other drivers from any lil fender bender. the brembos and the superb suspension are great for instances like these that we all have to encounter on a daily basis.

Heh, my brakes worked so well that I was rear ended on two occasions, once by a distracted Guido in a Camaro SS, and the other by a kid in his mommy's audi...

I was sitting at a red light alone and noticed an SUV closing fast in my rear view with no intention of stopping. I launched my car to the side of the road to see the chick blow by me without even looking...on her cell phone...and proceeded to blow through the next red light...totally obvlivious to what was going on.

Another time, traffic was stopped on a blind corner during a time when there generally isn't traffic. I was braking hard while watching the 300ZX doing the same in my rear view. If he wasn't, I knew the cat-like agility of the Evo would put me in the other lane if need be and let the 300ZX have my spot. Sitting there for a minute or so, I heard a loud crash. Someone had smashed into the car behind me! guess he wasn't watching his mirrors like I was, and didn't leave himself an escape route. Lucky for me I guess.

I was driving up a hill just after the Fort McHenry tunnel on I-95 and for whatever reason there was a semi in the fast lane with another going the same exact speed in the right lane. The middle was open, so I'm gingerly making my way up the hill when the joker to my left starts coming into my lane. It felt like the walls were closing in. I dropped it into 3rd, took off like a rocket and couldn't wipe the smile off my face for the rest of the day. If I was in my old Lancer I would have ended up under that stupid truck.

I was traveling on the interstate one day, probably doing about 75. This particular stretch was only two lanes. I was in the left lane and coming up on a slower car. There was no one in the left lane so I pull over to pass without needing to slow down, and right in the middle of the lane a was goodsize piece of a 2x4. I really did not want to run it over and damage something on my car so I had to swerve to the left to avoid it. I was just amazed at how easy it felt to control the car making a move like that at that speed.
