Can it be done?

Ok, Im very close to trading in my truck towards a new evo. The only thing holding me back right now is I sometimes tow my sportbike and jetski. I know that I should be able to tow with the evo, but I plan on modifying the car towards a goal of low 12s on pump. Will it be dangerous to tow with the car this modified?

As long as you check out the specs for the towing capacity as well as the hook, I see no difference modified or not.

Now if you're dumb enough to go ripping at 120 mph, that doesn't matter how modified the car is or not, it's just your own fault

i dont see why not. ive seen people towing bikes and stuff on 87 minivans in the snow. modded or not u can still tow. i wouldnt go as far as towing anything too big. but a few hundred pounds cant hurt anything.

If you were to stroke it, you definately could. But even with the stock 2.0, it wouldn't be that much different than riding with 4 other really big guys would it?

the evo manual says dont use it for towing, not to mention you get no power unless you are spooling might make towing difficult

Folks routinely tow small trailers with evo's (i.e. tires to the track). However, a bike or jetski is probabably a little big. Has anyone ever seen those track trailer's that miata guys haul around. They're huge!

I don't think you can tow anything that big. that's like over 1000lbs
