well, I am sure it is different everywhere, btu over here a guy blew up his STI motor on the track and he was not even driving hard (it is an older guy who really takes care of his STI), his car was stock. He took it to Subary and they said, your tires look like you have been to a race track, your waranty is voided. No new motor for you!!
Forbes: 2006 Evo vs Impreza poll (please vote)
Two years ago I asked for your help to vote the Evo as as Forbes' best sedan of 2004. Today Forbes has yet again put up a new poll but now it is between the Evo & the Impreza. If you have some time pls vote for the team. Thanks!

Evo is waaay behind now (39/61). But pretty much every review I've read says the Evo is more fun to drive, so that's OK with me.
I wanted to test drive the STi (soft-spoken professional in my 40s; married with kids) but they were not letting anyone test drive them around here.
I decided I didn't like the new nose or lack of a sunroof or the pink (script) and blue seats, and I did like the Evo's looks and how it drove, so I went with the Evo. The price was about the same. I also heard the STI understeers a lot more, which turned me off. And I heard the power was a bit overstated; opposite from the Evo.
