Getting ready to buy a Stewart Warner....

....boost gauge. I have a quick question before I do. With gauges do you guys get the 25psi ones or the 40 psi ones? I don't plan on modding my car anytime soon, MAYBE tune and exhaust later down the road, so is 25psi good enough?

Thanks

I went with the 40 and i'm bone stock for now. You never know what you're gonna do in the future...

Goodluck, and a good choice for a boost gauge! I love mine

That why I want to stay with 25 psi. If I would have to look at 40psi all the time and the needle would come close then I would start modding

So what does a mildly moddified evo 9 boost at?

Well that all depends....

Its really not that bad IMO looking at a 40psi guage when you're boosting around 20 +/- psi. Personal preference I guess!

The needle may or may not vibrate, its more of a function of the type of car and where you tap the vac. line from. Out of about 10 cars I've hooked boost gauges to the only one that vibrated is my Stealth. How many Evo owners have experience needle vibration w/o the dampener? Post here if you have. I work for SW so this info. is valuable to me. I should probably start a new thread for this.

25 is pretty high on pump gas. maybe a spike but not max boost. 21 is safe on 93.

rviscosi, the reason i included it in my post is because mine did vibrate. i called 42draftdesigns about it and they suggested i get the tubing kit with the specific "T". once i installed the "T" it performed as smoothly as my previose boost gauge. with that being said i hope i am in the minority with this gauge. it was a easy fix and highly recommend stewart warner gauges

Thats a good point however the 25 psi will give better resolution and slightly better accuracy as well.

Thanks for ALL the input guys, man its a 50/50 toss up. I think I might get the 25 for now for now, and IF couple years down the line I do make the car a 35psi beast, I can resale the gause here at evom and buy a 40 psi one.
Ginda suck that Stewart doesn't make a 30 psi guage

I personally got the 25psi gauge as I knew for sure I wasn't going to go crazy with it. Just a simple TBE, MBC, LICP, and flash setup and the gauge works wonderfully.
