My $3.00 Oil Catch Can
You can buy one of these for around $3.00 a piece at just about any Autozone or Pepboys (just go to the fuel filter section of the store):

Here is the filter after about 3000 miles of use (notice the oil sitting at the bottom):

Here are the underhood locations (circled in green):

Here is a dancing hippy I spotted near the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland:

I know what some of you are thinking. Why risk using such an inexpensive part on a high performance car like the Evo? Well to be honest, these filters work just as good as any $100 catch can you will find. I have ran tests (on my Evo, and several DSM's) and it appears that little or no oil buildup takes place after the installation of one of these. I have installed one on the PCV valve (located at the rear of the valve cover, towards the intake manifold) and one on the breather tube going to the intake pipe. They are unidirectional (they flow one way) so be sure to place the arrow towards the intake tract (i.e. the blowby is flowing FROM the valve cover TO the intake for recombustion). To install them, all you have to do is cut the existing breather line in half and place this fuel filter "inline". If you want to be really fancy, (like me) you can buy small hose clamps and more tubing (any parts store carries this size tubing, just bring in the tubing and show them) so that the resevoir portion of the filter remains pointed down (so gravity will allow the oil to buildup on the bottom). Remember to change these when they are visibly full of oil.
