all star mitsubishi sayresville nj

ok i bought a 2005 evo rs with 9100 miles from these guys on june 3rd i paid extra money to have it registered i put 4500$ down i purchased a 20 day temp plate for 60$ and just waited
On june 23rd when my temp plate expired they called and said it needed a vin verification which when i bought it i told them id need to do i knew this because i do this for a living
they said they do it all in house so i blew it off.
so on june 23rd the owner of the dealership told me to drive the vehicle illegally and if i got pulled over hed pay for any tickets which i told him would be unacceptable right there i had regretted buying from these guys
so i got a dealerplate and got the vin verified overnighted it to them. and to be honest it would have taken me another 5 minutes to walk inside and register the car.
so i sent them that on june 25th. its now july 10th and theyre saying it will take at least untill july 19th to get my plates because something else has come up.
i made a formal complaint with mitsubishi motor corp but theres nothing they can do
if anyone knows of anything i can do please help
and if you were thinkin about purchasing from these guys i suggest you do not
sorry for not using puncutation im on the phone with mitsu right now
thanks in advance guys

Something similar happened to me when I bought my S2000 from a Honda dealer in NJ. I paid cash for the car - No lienholder. So they should have just been able to hand me the title to drive away with. But the dealer did not have the NJ title for this car yet because they had JUST taken it as a trade in. The dealer wanted to register the car in PA for me for something ridiculous like $200. But I knew that I could do it myself for well under $100. So I said, "No. Sell me a 20 day temp tag and FedEx me the title to the car when you get it, and I will register it in PA myself." Fast forward and it's getting close to 20 days and I do not have the title yet. So I call and talk to the head of the dealership. (He tells me the same thing they told you - "Drive it around, and if you get a ticket, I will pay for it." )

It turns out that instead of just mailing me the title to me, they processed it as a normal registration. They paid my PA state sales tax on the car for me (despite the fact that I had never paid the dealer any sales tax, since you have to pay it in PA upon registration). In my case the dealer was out nearly $2000 in taxes that they had already paid to PA on my behalf. So it was in their best interest to be VERY nice to me and expedite it in any way they could in exchange for me reimbursing them all the money for taxes paid.

You just have to wait for the title to get there. There is not much else you can do. I don't think Mitsu corporate will be able to do much to help, although it is a great idea to get this on record with them. I think the dealer does owe you a better explaination of what went wrong... What I bet happened in your case is that there is some back-story that they are not telling you - Maybe they lost the title and had to get a replacement issued from NJ. Maybe there was an issue with the previous leinholder on your car. Maybe they sold you the car as a clean title only to later find out that it's not. Maybe it just sat on someone's desk for weeks and never got processed. Etc.

I had a problem, I put down a dp to find me a car and they told me I had until whenever to take it back and cancel the transaction....the piece of paper I signed said the next dated day so I called up during the day and asked wtf was up with that and he said he needed to just throw that in just to lock something in. I told him ok if thats the case I would like a refund and to cancel the transaction now, then he gave me the I'm on my cell phone and not in work so I can't do it today...long story short I had to keep going over his head stepping up until I spoke with one of the owners who finally reversed the charges after I threatened to have the credit card dispute the charges.

They were very nice to me until I wanted my money back then they started talking to me like I was 10 years old telling me not to be afraid/scared and to stop it and just let them do their thing and telling me I don't know what I'm doing if I cancel the search.
