Mine has never made noise, and I've not heard it in other Evos unless they had a problem or an upgraded clutch.

Definitely wait until you've properly broken in the motor before you take it back to the dealer, then speak to the Service Manager and explain your concerns with just anybody driving your car. Also make sure that the Service Manager knows that you are taking note of the mileage when you drop it off...
