Pruven performance BOV install

or in other words the Greddy type S BOV painted to match the valve cover.

Install was very simple 2 hose clamps and one compression clamp. very easy install no directions needed. all in all it took about 10 minutes to install...

My opinion - sounds almost identical to stock, with the exception that there is a slight puttering sound when u let off the gas at around 4 grand... It is not a loud noise by any stretch of the imagination, but a very quiet flutter. As far as performance, pruven said it netted 4hp on their dyno, my but dyno couldn't tell the difference but it deffinately felt like it was holding boost better.

My only question is there is a adjustment nut on the top of the BOV - one direction says "S" and the other is "F" I believe can anyone shed light on what adjusting the nut will do??

pics of the install - U do need to route the thin hose a little bit but nothing major... oh yeah and be careful when removing the air scoop (did this to get at the bolts easier) - the 2 little fasteners that hold it in place can get away from you - i lost one

WOW ! I am very surprized ! I LOVE my pruven BOV - - I found that the sound was in fact substantially louder than stock - - when my car was stock i could not even hear the bov really - NOW with the bov in place - I can actually hear the bov releasing (no its not loud - but you CAN hear it and it sounds great BTW - some of us dont like loud BOV's I always felt like an idiot when driving around with a loud BOV in a car i was tuning for someone)

BTW - the reason WHY you may be having some troubles is becuase you installed the BOV backwards - thats right you have it the wrong way around - that may explain why you are not getting the right sound

Finally your mangled hands make me want to cry - it took me about 3 mins to install this BOV - just shoot some WD-40 on the tubes and it pops right in!

Just turn it round - use the black tube for the intake and the silver goes out - and you should be all set - no adjustment is needed at all - it comes pre-set by pruven

that nut is the S-softness or F-firmness of the spring inside the bov. thats what makes it adjustable to hold more or less boost

i dotn' think its suppose to have the flutter sound.. i have the greddy type S.. i think try to loosen it up.. When the screw was too tight it would flutter, and if it is jsut right it woudl blow off without loosing boost..So try playing witht he screw first

ok - i flipped the valve around to the other side - pain in the *** -but now it faces the right way - i didn't install it wrong that's the way pruven sent it to me... oh well - it's still fluttering guess i need to play with the adjuster some more.

and the cuts on my hand are from the cover to the fan - it's got alot of rough edges - if i don't get beat up when i install something i don't feel i've done anything

I think you got the wrong idea - its not something inside or any valve you need to turn around - its the entire bOV that is installed backwards - the BLACK tube is the input side - it goes into the rubber hose that branches off of the intercooler pipe - - - the other side - the shorter SILVER side goes down wards into the air intake tube that goes into the turbo

If you have any other questions - I suggest you contact pruven performance at (203) 874-0393 - - I can assure you they will take the time to answer all your questions and lead you in the right direction

I can only tell you that my BOV performs flawlessly and so does my friend's

Isn't the flatter sound means turbo surge? Meaning... the blow off is not working right. Not realeasing any air hence when the TB closes, the excess air that is still on the charge pipes routes back into the turbo compressor's turbine and the flutter noise is created because the air is fighting back and has no where to go! And that's actually bad for the turbo.. isn't it? Not much but as long as it gets fixed soon. Btw... Alfried is right.. the blowoff is indeed installed the other way around.
