Do all creaders work with the evo?
I bought a creader on ebay. I plug the creader into my OBD2 port and put the key in 2nd position but don't start the engine. The creader turns on and I get four dashes then get an "E", which I think means error. Even with the engine on, it does the same exact thing. Could it be a problem with the creader or are there different versions of it that may not be compatible with the evo? The only thing I can find that looks like a serial number is 072005034392.
Ive tried two of them with the same results and the last one had the white serial number strip everyone said would work. Not on mine. I would still like to get one that works though, I got the P0300 bug and need one like a crackhead needs a fix!

I have one from autozone bought awhile back and it works on my 9. It is orange I am pretty sure it is the sameone they use to give you a free read. On a side note it has worked on lots of different types of cars but won't do jack on my Prius besides plug in a get power.
Not all work with the evo; if your instruction manual has japanese in it (among other languages, not just english and spanish) then it should be good to go.
If not then return it and try a new one; if that doesn't work, buy a different code reader I guess. :-|

Order a Creader from Vishnu, they are a vendor on here. I remember reading that 1 kind of Creader does not work w/Evos. If you order from Vishnu it will be compatible with the Evo. I have had no problems with mine since I ordered it, I just leave it plugged in all the time.
