Don't let the dealer play games with what you pay/month. It's too easy for them to slip extra **** in there. Tell them you are going through your credit union and agree on a price. Then when you talk to the finance bozo, you can try and have him beat what you can get elsewhere or what you made up

BTW - $600 car payments for 72 months!?!?! That is downright ABSURD! Especially when you add in maintenance costs, fuel, insurance, mods, etc. You guys could be buying nice homes in many parts of the country!

That depends where you are. A 1 bedroom condo in San Francisco (where I'm at) is $500,000.

I pay $460 a month for 60 months, $5K down and 0% interest for my Evo 8. Even then I think my car payments are high. I want to get rid of this car payment ASAP.

Maybe you should keep your mouth shut and try not to tell others what to not post. If you read my original question you'd see that I asked people what they thought I might pay so I can get an idea. Please be quiet, thanx.

You can guess about the payment number all you want. And you can listen to what other people are paying on their loans all you want.

But if you want to know what YOU would be paying in YOUR situation with YOUR negotiated price, YOUR down payment, YOUR loan term, YOUR intrest rate, YOUR taxes paid - You have to use a loan calculator like we've linked you to and plug YOUR numbers into it.

I did not get the impression that fugiwara was trying to be rude to you. He was simply pointing out that asking everyone else what they pay on their loans is not useful for you to use to determine what your loan payments would be. Just use any online auto loan calculator. It takes 10 seconds to find out EXACTLY what your loan payments would be. And then you can play with the numbers you put in the calulator to see what you can do to get an affordable payment for you.
