Yeah, way to skirt the issue. I quoted you saying a flash can affect timing, then told you that we were talking about CAM TIMING, so then you respond talking about white smoke, which is not the main subject, nor did I even mention white smoke. That's exactly the type of thing Zhemel used to do. I guess you're just going to get banned for the 3rd time (at least 3 that I know of)...

You're just impossible. Why do you act like this? Did you forget this post?

When you said: "Yes, a flash can def screw up timing."

Which I then refuted without mentioning white smoke, because cam timing is not related to white smoke, then you asked what else would produce white smoke as if it was in any way related to what I was saying. Yes, ONE OF HIS PROBLEMS is white smoke, but that has nothing to do with you saying a flash can screw up timing, which is WRONG, since we're only talking about cam timing.

YOu know my problem if you read my last 4 posts. YOu gave false info, then tried to change the subject while ignoring the facts (like you're still doing). The white smoke issue is secondary and was already answered by someone before you.

How did this mechanic actually check your cam timing?

White smoke, you probably blew a head gasket. Check for coolant in the oil, after the car is running the oil might look like chocolate milk, also check for oil in the coolant overflow bottle.

It's not fool proof, but if you have either of those symptoms you have a blown head gasket.

And the blown head gasket would explain your loss in performance.....

Unless your mechanic is really good with the new EVO IX he probably has no clue that the cam timing on the intake cam is controled by the ECU and is totally clueless what it should look like with the engine shut off..... it will NOT look like a non-mivec 4g63.
