EVO 8 Leather Interior

I went to SEMA IAS yesterday in Los Angeles and K&N Filters had an evo to demo all their products. The only weird thing was that this evo had leather interior. It looked OEM because it still had those seat restraint logos on seats by the buckles. They were definately recaros. I asked around and no one knew why it had leather and the owner wasnt there. It looked great. Even the doors has this suede/leather scheme. I'm thinking these were from an evo 7 because they had the same exact cololr scheme as the evo 7 seats, but just in leather. The seemed a little more narrow too - but i'm not sure. Did the evo 7 ever come with a leather interior? It was cool opening the door....it smelled like a brand new Lexus inside! The evo was blue so i;m thinking it might be that leather one GlobeCLK spotted at the MMSA building.

Sweet I wish I saw it. I'm pretty sure the Evo 7 came in leather and the fact that you think the seats were more narrow I would bet your right.

Yes the GT-A came in leather. But also I think there was an options for the evo VII to have leather recaros. I am having trouble finding any pictures of the leather recaros but I have seen text from mitsu offering this option on the evo VII. It would be nice to get those seats for the evo VIII.

Looks like they may have it as a stock option in enland judging from the first link, maybe they will consider it for a 2004 model...if they do, sign me up, it would make my descision today on getting a evo or not

Savage,

Those dont look like what I saw. The ones I saw had the exact same shape and the recaros we have. With full bolsters and everything. They were colored exactly like the recaro cloth evo VII seats.

I wish I had my dig camera with me!!! It was a spur of the moment decision for me to go to the show.

When I get my EVO in Jan, I was planning on getting leather for mine. The local mitsu dealer has a private company do it for them, it costs about $1300 extra to get added to the car. I thought about keeping the stock color look also.

coolguy, i think you saw what I mentioned before. blue Evo with stock recaros that are covered in leather, not the GT-A type of normal seats.

I should be going back to MMSA HQ to find it and take pics. If you have time, maybe you can try taking pics too . When I went last week there were only 2 blue ones left in the parking lot, and no leather on either one.
