I hadn't seen that video yet, it was a lot of fun to watch. I'm glad I got the MR edition because when it comes down to it I can always add power but the aluminum roof is HARD to replace.

The MR had the MIVEC engine, no wonder it was faster. If that video shows anything, it's that all the different Evo models have equal performance, aluminum roof and lightened wheels non-withstanding.

it was more like 1/2way in between 7-8 as the rev limiter stock is at 7606rpm.

from the looks of it, if they sent that STI Spec C over here, we might be in trouble stock for stock...

That is an old video circa 2004. Back then the MR was a separate model and not a trim spec i.e. it does not have MIVEC. MIVEC was introduced with the JDM Evo 9.
