Weird noise?
Car is an 03 EVO 8 that just turned 34K.
Mods are as follows: HKS 272 cams, RMR intake w/ Buschur filter, ARP head studs, Buschur FMIC, Buschur UICP, Unorthodox Racing pulley kit, Fidanza cam gears, FR "White rabbit" (20g) turbo, DNP exhaust mani, DNP O2 housing, Espelir 3" down pipe, Espelir catback, RMR test pipe, AMS 780cc injectors, etc.
At idle, my car makes a noise that sounds like a tick or something. It doesn't always do it, only when the idle drops down say below 1K RPM. If you give it any throttle, it goes right away. The sound seems to be loudest around the cam gears (left side of the motor.)
Was wondering what it could be and if I should be alarmed????????

If it gets loud enough to be heard inside the car with the windows up and continues at higher rpms you have a bad lifter. For now I'd say you have a hint of what may become a lifter problem in the future.
