RS4 is ridiculously overpriced. Nice car, but 700 lbs too heavy and $15,000 overpriced. Evo FQ-340 walks all over it track performance wise in the EVO magazine shootout months ago.

Yeah but that quote from c/d said nothing about "quality." It was based strictly on performance and price.

Sorry about the sunroof on MR... blame it on a temporary state of forgetness. Edited original post for correctness.

It certainly doesn't make any sense to cross shop those two cars. One costs 2x the other and has luxury while the other has bargain basement everything.

The EVO is not as refined, for sure. It's a sharp-edged tool for purists. It is not crap in any way, though.

I wonder why people assume that folks with a lot of money always buy the most expensive cars available, and would never pick something cheaper because it suits their needs.

Maybe because they don't know what it's like to have a lot of money....

The GSR definitely suited my needs! Not that I have a lot of money... but I did just buy a new BMW Z4 M coupe to keep my EVO company...

that is an extremely biased response. there's plenty of things that are crappy about the evo. but you are right, it does what it was designed to do very well.

i'll assume that was directed towards me...if someone wants luxury, they're looking in the wrong place (Evo). The fact that they'd even consider an RS4 means that they want something luxurious and more classy.

You guys can twist what I'm saying however you want to defend the Evo, etc, but the fact remains that the Evo and RS4 are NOT in the same class and comparing the two is foolish.

This is only your opinion and it obviously isn't shared by others, one being a journalist that writes about cars for a living. He seems to think it isn't so foolish to compare the two and he gets paid to do it.

You should be careful about painting with such a broad stroke. Just because you don't agree, doesn't make it foolish.
