buschur muffler with resonator..too quiet??

when i bought my evo it came with a catback with a resonator on it. it was really quiet. the muffler seemed cheap also so i got a buschur race muffler and i put it on with the existing pipe wit the resonator on. it sounds much deeper now but it still is really quiet. i had 2 resonators on my greddy evo2 on my last car and it was still loud. shouldnt an evo be louder? especially with only 1 resonator? i also have a espelir downpipe.

Wow! I'd kill for a 3" muffler that is too quiet. Do you know the internal diameter of your resonator?

nope it came with the car..i guess it's not a bad thing that it's so quiet, it's just that how come 1 resonator can make the muffler so quiet?? especially i heard this is 1 of the loudest mufflers

My hks hipower catback was too quiet for me...the resonator was also hitting my driveshaft. Not anymore
Just have the resonator cut off and replaced with straight pipe for like $60

BR race muffler is loud. Wish we could find out what kind of resonator it was. I'd buy one in a heart beat.

I agree with that, I wish mine wasn't so lound. When I come home after work (I work 2nd shift) I am always afraid my car is going to wake up my kid at night. But I am too stuborn to sacrifice performance for sound. However, if your set-up is quiet and provides performance, then please tell.

It's amazing how there are so many people that just want to have a loud exhaust... they must not live in Va b/c cops tend to pick on cars with loud exhausts. I would give anything thing to have a quiet exhaust that performed well.

I was thinking the same thing if you want it louder. And why not buy a resonator and install that for those who want it more quiet. Does it rob performance that much that you cant do it?

when i bought the car it already has a resonator on it so i dont know if the performance would be better without it. does it make a big difference?

A resonator is negligable. You'd be looking at a couple of hp tops.

A perforated tube type resonator doesn't really affect HP as much as a louvered type resonator.
