i was wondering that when we raced him in the semi finals and just barely got knocked out.....us with our lightly tuned 35r and him with his 40r or whatever and slicks.....not quite fair for the average joe...hopefully next year evo eliminator will be without nos/slicks at LEAST.....i think the point of evo eliminator is to have street driven evos race it that are privately owned not big 9 second shop cars.....normally quick 16 is for that especially when your the 3rd or 4th fastest evo.
I first met David Buschur at my 1st DSM shootout 4 years ago - I knew right away he was a guy who knew more about cars than most people could forget and alsoa fun guy to hang out with.
Each year this event has grown and the four shootouts have been some of my happiest days, I wouldn't miss one for anything
This year was the year of Buschur
The event was dominated by Buschur tuned evos from start to finish
First, I could not have been happier for Dan and David going 8's if I did it myself, those guys worked hard to get there and they are the best DSM tuners I know. I was totally overjoyed when I saw that 8 second pass, I felt like a young kid again, I was jumping around with David it was great to watch. Knowing how hard they worked to sort out all the small details it makes me proud to see them do it. Its a lot easier than it looks when you see that black missel fly down the track like a cadiliac.
No one can take that huge milestone away being the first to go 8's - contgrats Buschur another first in a long series of firsts
Second - the other Buschur cars were no less amazing
David's RS with bold on stock location 20 g weet 10's all day and won Evo stock appearing class - thats in a evo that is equally at home on a road course
Curt Brown got tuned by David on thursday with his GT35R evo which he drove to the track and went 9.30 @ 150 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He drove home becuase he now has a Buschur motor !
Shep was using a Buschur motor in his Talon going the first in a AWD to go 7's !
I was in my 4th year in a row Evo Eliminator and had it locked until my battey wore down in the finals and I could not get started. I got a jump box and did a exhibition pass of 9.8 @ 151 with my Buschur tune and engine. My car had full exhuast, interior - weighs 3200 lbs and no nos. Not bad for a street car I was driving on the road the day before.
Also to note that David was a real sportsman to lend AMS a Buschur Ignition system and help adjust their AEM to get their miss fire fixed and allow them to finish the race - that was a real sport'sman like gesture and shows why David is just a stand up guy all the way.
Those who missed this event - it was the best race of my life. It was a happy day to see team Buschur rise to the occassion and put on a real strong evo showing.
PS - I think it was the largest DSM shootout to date and I cant wait till nest year !

Thanks for all the congrats on the 8 second runs today! We broke the barrier and are very proud of it. Thanks for all the support.
Couple things. #1, we were no disqualified, we we eliminated by Marco in his 2g, big difference. Congrats to him, the car is flying. #2, Al did not "break" his battery was too low to start the car in the finals and did not have a jump box. He went and got his jump box, started the car and ran 9.7 at 151 mph.
The event was huge. Largest/fastest ever. I will make a post about it.

Many people where wondering that.
As mentioned the thing that amazed me besides the 8 sec pass by BR was Curt's 9.3 on a GT35R.
All in all it was a pretty good shootout and great weather.

The event was just awesome, it was non-stop racing from about 8:30am. Congrats to Buschur and his crew for an awesome performance they put on today. Also congrats to AMS, the car surely demonstrated that it has the horsepower to probably touch an 8.8 time but too bad they are having traction issues like a FWD car. Shep's car is just something out of this world, beautiful racecar!!!

The rules of Evo Eliminatior have been the same for the past 4 years - there is NO NOS and DOT tires required
My car is just as street driven as anyone elses
I am a one man vendor as are you and I do all my own wrenching and driving of my car just like you do.
My car prob weighs more than yours - especially since I have a full 10 pts roll cage and parachute set up and engine cach can to run NHRA and NOPI - my car with me in it is 3200 lbs and in this race had
Full exhuast
Full interior
head lights - tail lights - turn signals etc etc etc
If you think you just got bearly knocked out in the semi finals you must be halucinating as I let you leave babied it out of the hole and drove around you like you were standing still. If I had driven hard it would have been worse but of course I was racing and we only go as fast as needed to win the race.
Here is the details of our time slips
R/T .449 .319
60' 1.859 1.693
1/8 7.074 7.022
MPH 113 103
1000 8.94 9.055
1/4 10.497 10.753
MPH 147.18 133.00
left 1st 1.254
I don't think its decent for you to be complaining about how fast you went the rules have been up all year and you could have certainly done more with your car if you wanted to I dont see any reason why they need to limit the class to slow cars ??
PS - the other cars in the clas were a low 10 second Buschur customer car
Dan Begalis built my AMS who previously went 9.7
and Pure Evo a tuner shop who actually won the race and also went low 10's

Congrats Man, it was awesome talking to you after the 8 sec pass was run. You sounded calm, cool, and collected
. It's Amazing that you told me you were going to be in 8 sec, and I had no doubt in my mind you would do it. Mad Props to you and your team for your hard work and dedication. It goes to show how quickly you got their from building the Drag car late in the game. Next year without a doubt I will be their to drink one with you guys
. I will not miss it for the world
.
I'm trying to update the top ten list and can't get a definte time or MPH for Al. Was it 150 or 151mph? And some are saing he ran a 9.8 some say a 9.7... Just trying to get accurate stats.

Congrats guys, and keep up the great work!
