Question AYC and ACD in the US evo7

Sup all,
Well, we have all heard wat Evo Imports says about there being no AYC or ACD in the new evo7. That really pisses me off. THAT is one of the main reason for me wanting to go buy a evo7! i think the evo7 is known for its handling, not its ****in drag speed. are theses rumours true? im be really pissed if it is true that the US evo7 will not have AYC and ACD. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?

This has been dicussed before and you would get more answers and opinions with a search...but to answer your question: It has been a rumor that Mitsubishi is not going to include the AYC/ACD because it limits the size of the gas tank. Mitsubishi feels that the US cars need a bigger gas tank. Also there are long term reliabilty/maintenence issues...

I hear no AYC/ACD too due to government compliance a larger fuel tank is required. No roam to package AYC/ACD

I don't car if they take out the AYD, but there's no way they take out the ACD - it's a crucial part of the AWD drivetrain.

It has something to do with the EPA requiring a certain number of miles driven per tank of gas. While your vehicle gas tank may have the same size tank, it likely get much better gas mileage than EVO. Thus, In order for EVO to meet than miles per tank requirement a larger tank will be required.

emmm...even if Mitsu takes out the ACD and AYD, there will still be a mechanical central diff and rear LSD for the EVO (unless it's a FWD car). So the EPA-want-certain-size-gas-tank theory doesn't really make sense to me. Unless it's other reasons, like costs...

BTW, the gas tank should be located in front of the rear transfer case; therefore, unless they eliminate the drive shaft (do you think an AWD car will work w/out this?), there should be no other way to make an EVO's gas tank substantially larger.

I've seen an AWD Eclipse without this. The salesman insisted it was AWD, the sticker said it was AWD and the price suggested that too, but look under the car and there was no drive shaft or anything else that you would need for an AWD vehicle. Must be some crazy new technology! Maybe they will use this in the U.S. Evo too.

I hope there are alot of dolts out there. It just means more room on the fire roads for me! So, go ahead and believe the rumors, Ill bet they are all true. In that case, youd be better off with something else. Please oh please drive something else.
